Hi, I’m Monica (she/her)!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and owner of Sunstone Healing. As a trauma-informed therapist, I am deeply committed to providing a safe and non-judgmental space for you to explore your inner processes and external experiences that have led you here today. Connection, curiosity, and compassion lay the foundation for my work with clients. With extensive training and experience in trauma-focused therapy, I have developed an understanding of the impact that trauma has on an individual’s mental and emotional well-being as well as the complex ways in which it can manifest in various symptoms and behaviors. I recognize the complex ways that race, gender, and other identities can intersect with the experiences of trauma. I strive to create a culturally responsive and inclusive practice that recognizes the unique experiences of each person I work with. I am committed to ongoing learning and growth in my own work to provide an affirming and inclusive space for LGBTQIA+ and communities of color.

My training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) has equipped me with the knowledge and tools to help clients process and release traumatic memories and emotions while also building a stronger sense of self and resilience. Through EMDR, I help clients create new associations with traumatic experiences, leading to a reduction in symptoms and an increased sense of control and empowerment. We will work together to nurture and empower all parts of you and discover ways to enjoy and cope with the ebbs and flows of life with confidence.

Outside of work, I love hanging out at home with my cats Frank and Luna, and playing outside.
